I am always drawn to these faces, perhaps because I myself have arrived at that stage of life...wanted to keep this one loose, and lively, and vibrant with the underpainting still visible instead of the more painstaking task of painting the wrinkles.. Painted with more of an alla prima technique, I actually was experimenting on an old pressed wood board and liked what I was developing. Used a very limited palette with tonal range/value range doing the 'talking'!
